Can you help me with this riddle?

Reply:i dont get it?
Reply:Rode a.......

dendron?

dend run?

I do not know.
Reply:I do believe that this is a limerick, which goes like this:

A major, with wonderful force,

Called out in Hyde Park for a horse.

All the flowers looked round,

But no horse could be found;

So he just rhododendron, of course.

I think it's just supposed to be a play on words. He couldn't find a horse, so he just 'rhod o dendron' (rode a dendron). Which is the name of a flower. I think 'dendron' is some sort of mineral forming a branch pattern. Not sure though!

Cheers!
